Community Mental Health and Addictions

One in five people will experience mental illness in their lifetime. Peel Memorial helps fulfill the growing need for mental health and addiction services in the community, providing adults, teens and children with:

  • a highly-skilled, interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and counselors
  • new services, such as a short-term intervention and a rapid response service, to identify patients in need of assistance and help them manage their care without hospitalization
  • primary care consultation and rapid response for urgent patients
  • treatments for conditions relating to mood disorders, anxiety, addictions and eating disorders
  • specialized geriatric psychiatry consultation
  • child and adolescent clinic services, including addiction counselling and a new first episode psychoses service
  • outreach services to community partners, including:
    • Canadian Mental Health Association
    • Peel Assertive Community Treatment Team
    • Supportive Housing in Peel
    • The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health
