Your needs, our response

As the community grows and ages, the services at Brampton Civic expand and evolve to keep pace with the health care needs. From birth to palliative care, we are with you throughout your life’s journey. With this in mind we have made some changes, including:

  • expanded the Cardiac Procedures Unit (CPU), thanks to a generous donor, to allow more recovery space for patients following treatment
  • increased access to surgical procedures
  • created a new Palliative Care Outpatient Clinic to support patients living with complex pain, symptoms and life-limiting illnesses, in their own homes
  • developed a new Musculoskeletal (MSK) Program to help adults with back and/or joint pain
  • developing a new joint Vascular and Endovascular Program to give patients at high risk of heart attack, stroke and aneurysms access to leading-edge, minimally-invasive surgical procedures that will help them recover faster
  • expanded the Medical Admissions Unit (MAU) to improve access to treatment for patients staying in the hospital for 48 hours or less
  • 24/7 access to Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI or stent) to provide life-saving treatment for patients having or at risk of having a heart attack

While the Ontario government funds clinical services, it does not cover the cost of the equipment. One hundred per cent of the funds needed to invest in new equipment must come from the community. That’s why your support is so critical in helping us to add and expand the programs, services and space – as well as the supporting equipment and technology.
