You have the power to heal
Today, Etobicoke General Hospital is a full-service community hospital that provides care to the residents in North Etobicoke, Vaughan, Bolton, Caledon, east Mississauga and the northwest corner of Toronto. The hospital provides a broad range of emergency, inpatient and outpatient services including obstetrical care, cardiology, inpatient and outpatient mental health care and surgical services.
Thousands of families in the community have turned to Etobicoke General over the years for the kind of care that most of us will need throughout our lives. Every year we:
- Help mothers deliver more than 2,500 babies
- Provide care to more than 70,000 people in an Emergency Department built for half that number and
- Perform more than 17,700 surgeries that improve patients’ lives
In addition, Etobicoke is a ‘first responder’ to the Toronto Pearson International Airport. This means the hospital must always be ready to meet the needs of those in this community and respond to special situations.
The need is great.
The increased needs of the growing and aging population have stretched Etobicoke General well beyond its intended capacity.
And now, change is on the way!
